The Need
Over ten years ago, Pine Lake Fellowship Camp
association members embarked on a project to add
the Lake View Lodge to its facilities. This building
helped Pine Lake grow into a yearround retreat
center, a place where churches, families, and Gulf
States Mennonite Conference could go to get away
from the busyness of life and into the quiet, peaceful
surroundings of Pine Lake where many people have
found it easier to feel the presence of God.
This project was a success! People came. People
were drawn together into renewal of spirit, soul, and
body and into reconciliation with God, creation, and
each other.
But over the past few years, there have been more requests to rent the lodge than there are number of weekends. There are
larger groups looking for more room than the lodge has to offer. Our conference retreats are often in need of more
weatherized rooms and a larger meeting area. Out of these needs was born the idea of Tall Pines Fellowship Center.
The Solution
The Tall Pines Fellowship Center will provide:
- Up to 50 beds in this weatherized
- building
- A meeting area for 150 people
- Break out areas for conference
- events
- New office spaces
- A new kitchen

What we won't forget...
As we build the Tall Pines Fellowship Center, we don’t
want to forget the more rustic side of camp. We will
maintain this area by—
- Roofing and painting all rustic buildings
- Renovating the bath houses
- Getting new cabin flaps
- Improving the kitchen in the pavilion by adding a
cooling system, replacing old appliances, and
repairing the exhaust fan
