L.I.T. Program

The Leaders-In-Training program has been a great success for PLFC.  It is our goal to prepare the next generation of leaders by providing hands-on experience to fulfill their potential as future leaders.  Serving at Pine Lake provides a wonderful setting for one to explore those gifts and talents.  Below you will read the expectations and responsibilities of an L.I.T.

Expectations/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in orientation and two or more weeks of summer camp.
  • Participate in three special training sessions.
    • Each training session has a guided practice component with follow-up during each week
  • Lead activities as assigned after completing training sessions.
  • Live with a cabin group, assist that counselor, engage with campers during activities/staff meeting, help in kitchen as needed, lead one cabin devotions each week, help supervise and lead/assist with snack time activities
  • Have a healthy respect those in authority
  • Engage campers in all activities during the day (swimming, recreation, meal times, crafts, etc.)
  • Work as a team during meal clean-up
  • Assist with clean up at the end of each week.
Please note that while the expectations seem like a lot of work, there is an immeasurable amount of fun and fellowship also involved in the L.I.T. program.
